Spaces & Pages Tools
These tools let your agent read and manage Confluence spaces and pages under your configured
CONFLUENCE_USER_TOKEN — the agent can only do what that token's Confluence permissions allow.
What's available
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
list_spaces |
List the spaces you can see, optionally filtered by type |
get_space |
Look up one space by key |
get_page |
Read a page's content and current version |
create_page |
Create a new page in a space |
update_page |
Update a page's title/body (needs the current version — read it via get_page first) |
search_content |
Find pages with CQL (Confluence Query Language) |
If a CONFLUENCE_ADMIN_TOKEN is also configured, admin_get_space_permissions is available too —
see docs/user/admin.md once that tool family grows beyond this one tool (not written separately
yet for a single-tool surface).
Example prompts
- "What spaces do I have access to?"
- "Show me the Release Notes page in the DOCS space."
- "Create a page in TEST called 'Meeting Notes' with today's agenda."
- "Find all pages in TEST modified in the last week."
Things to know
- Search always uses CQL — describe what you want in plain language and the agent constructs the query.
- Before updating a page, the agent reads it first to get the current version — Confluence rejects a stale-version write, so it can't guess.
- Page bodies are Confluence's storage format (HTML-like XML), not Markdown.
